Abstract
Absorption spectral characteristics of visible absorbing electrons, e - vis, in LiCl glasses have been studied by γ-radiolysis at 4K. Increasing the LiCl concentration causes a decrease of the absorption peak energy. The mean radius of charge density distribution and the mean kinetic energy of e - vis in the ground state have been calculated from the absorption spectra by applying the sum rules. The former increases and the latter concomitantly decreases with increasing the salt concentration. On the basis of these results, the trap structure is discussed in relation to the glass structure of concentrated LiCl solutions.
