Abstract

Large transverse electron polarization of 60 to 70% is routinely achieved at HERA during luminosity operation. In May 1994 spin rotators were brought into operation and for the first time longitudinal electron polarization was produced in a high energy storage ring. The spin rotators caused no significant loss in the degree of polarization. Longitudinal polarization at HERA will be used by the HERMES experiment starting in 1995 and later also by the collider experiments H1 and ZEUS.
