Abstract

In this paper a novel framework for designing multivarible adaptive controllers (as the independent joint controllers) of industrial robots is developed with the specific aim of compensating unwanted dynamic load disturbances and system parameter variations. The proposed adaptive joint controller was implemented by using concurrent processing techniques and asynchronous communications facilities of transputers. Experimental results are included to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed transputer-based robot controller adaptive control algorithms.
