Abstract
We have measured the electrical resistivity and Hall coefficient of Y2Ba4(Cu1−xZnx)7O15−δ (x − 0 − 0.05) polycrystalline samples synthesized using a high‐oxygen‐pressure technique. The sign of the Hall coefficient was positive above the superconducting transition temperature Tc for non‐doped Y2Ba4Cu7O15−δ (Y247). The Hall coefficient dramatically changed after 4% Zn doping; the sign of the Hall coefficient changed from positive to negative below about 120 K and still showed superconductivity in 4%Zn‐doped Y247. These behaviors could be explained by considering another conduction path, the so‐called CuO double chain, instead of the CuO2 plane.
