Abstract
Expressions are presented for the entire set of quantum transport cross sections for atomic ion-atom systems where resonant charge transfer can occur. The semiclassical limits of these expressions are used in conjunction with a previously developed kinetic theory of gaseous ion transport to calculate the transport coefficients for the rare gas ions in their parent gases. A comparison of the calculated results with experiment is used to assess the accuracy of the interaction potential energy curves presently available for these systems.
