Abstract

Bipolarons in doped polymers have usually been ignored in analyzing organic devices or electrochemical impedance measurements. For the transport in conjugated polymers Kirova and Brazovskii (Synth. Metals 76 (1996) 229) supposed the formation of complexes of polarons and bipolarons with counter ions. We formulate the theory of such scenario including traps, the direct polaron-bipolaron reaction and the formation of complexes, and analyze the possible rule of such reactions in devices.
