Abstract

Translators of the 21st century are expected to make an efficient use of new technologies in an ever demanding market/society. Therefore lecturers must teach translator trainees to exploit the translation technology available to them, which entails a number of difficulties at cognitive, procedural and attitudinal levels. In this article, these problems are examined within the context of an innovative education project set up to pave the way in this learning process, to improve the development of the required skills, to foster the use of translation technology among translator trainees, and to prepare them for the professional translation environment.
