Abstract

This study examines academic research on the use of augmented reality (AR) technology in STEM education from 2020 to 2024. A total of 23 studies were analysed based on dimensions such as publication type, year, location, authorship, discipline, and country. The main goal is to compile the current literature, identify trends, and guide future research, helping educators, researchers, and policymakers understand and contribute to developments in AR education. AR enriches learning experiences, especially in STEM fields with abstract concepts, by aiding comprehension and application while fostering problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity. Data obtained from the Google Scholar database was analysed using the content analysis method. The results highlight AR’s increasing interest in STEM education, particularly its ability to enhance students’ motivation and academic success. The study also includes applications and comparative analyses of AR across STEM disciplines, offering insights into its impact and potential.
