Abstract

ABSTRACT. A brother and sister with an age difference of 23 months developed transient erythroblastopenia of childhood (TEC) at 21 months and 19 months of age, respectively. The boy's illness followed an upper respiratory infection, while for his sister, it followed chicken pox. Both patients recovered rapidly during prednisone therapy. The question of a genetic predisposition for TEC in this family is raised.
