Abstract
The fieldwork practicum in social work education is designed to create a variety of opportunities to develop and enhance professional practice skills. In the purview of social work, learning is aided through observation, analysis of social realities, and participation in designing and providing social work interventions. This chapter explores the field practicum models in India. A community-based living-learning field practicum model is explored against a transformative learning theory. Social work camp is one of the special programmes meant to indigenize social work education, with a specific focus on macro-practice training in India. Although the chapter explores social work camp features and challenges, it also narrates the model of the social work living-learning field practicum for social work education. The chapter describes the camp case studies containing innovative practices which trace the transformative learning among the trainees through integrated social work.
