Abstract
The research presents an attempt to look to the institutional critique from the theoretical and his torical point of view. The author summarizes world experience and unveils basic theoretical conceptions. The main chronological periods of the critique evolution are defined and the future perspectives of the critical strategies are clarified. For the first time the specific features of the development of the institutional and discursive practices in Ukraine are investigated and analyzed and their potential is apprehended as a stimulus of the institutional and art movement in the local context.
