Abstract

We have demonstrated the linear transformation of a pulse chirp through second-order cascading in a degenerate phase-matched optical parametric amplifier by means of the self-diffraction process. We have measured as much as seven-fold enhancement of a frequency sweep rate in the diffracted idler pulses with no visible onset of intensity-dependent effects.
