Abstract
Among eukaryotic transcriptional activators, those with acidic activation domains have been shown to stimulate transcription in organisms ranging from yeast to human. In vivo and in vitro assays have been employed to demonstrate transcriptional enhancement in yeast by the proline-rich activation domain of human CTF1. This result suggests that proline-rich activation domains may, like typical acidic activation domains, functional universally.
