Abstract

Aortic stenosis (AS) is a common heart valve disease, particularly affecting elderly populations. Surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR) has long been the standard of care, but its invasive nature excludes many highrisk patients. Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) has emerged as a less invasive alternative. It is a pioneering medical interventional procedure that has now become a standard procedure for treating patients with severe AS. The paper highlights TAVI's effectiveness, including its benefits, procedure protocols, and future perspectives, while also addressing its limitations and challenges.
