Abstract

Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) metastatic to the pancreas is a very rare pathophysiology and clinically asymptomatic in most cases. However, it may cause gastrointestinal bleeding or obstructive jaundice. The present report describes a case of patient who underwent successful transarterial embolization (TAE) using gelatin sponge for intestinal bleeding due to RCC metastatic to the pancreas, which were found over 6 years after nephrectomy. In this patient, successful TAE was performed for the dorsal pancreatic artery, the greater pancreatic artery, and the second jejunal artery using microcatheter with a 2.0-F tip, and hemostasis was obtained.
