Abstract
Telang flower, scientifically named Clitoria ternatea, is a wild plant that is commonly found in home yards and is usually treated as decorative flowers. This plant is a group of legumes. Its bright blue colour adds the beauty and bloom of the home yard. In addition to its attractiveness, telang flower has many benefits, they are for eye treatment, anti-depressant, heart health care, also circulation of lipoproteins in the body. Another, telang flower is also used as food or cake colouring. Therefore, it is important to educate public society about the use of telang flower as natural dyes in making cendol starch. The objective of this community service program is to improve public society’s knowledge on the use of telang flower as natural dyes in making cendol starch for society in Datengan Village Grogol District Kediri Regency. The program had been implemented on July 20 to August 30, 2019, located in Datengan Village Grogol District Kediri Regency. Results show that the partner community were very enthusiastic on the use of natural dyes from telang flower in making cendol starch. Based on the questionnaire distributed to the partner community, it reveals that there was a significant improvement on the partner community’s knowledge which reached 90% on the use of natural dyes in making cendol starch.

Sasaran dan Target Warga Desa Datengan khususnya Dusun Datengan, dan karang taruna. Bentuk kegiatan Setiap tahapan pelaksanaan pengabdian masyarakat dengan menggunakan prinsip bahwa setiap inovasi yang diterima oleh mitra sebaiknya melalui proses mendengar, mengetahui, mencoba, mengevaluasi, menerima, dan melaksanakan. Setelah tahap pendidikan dan pelatihan ini masyarakat dapat menggunakan kemampuannya untuk menggunakan pewarna alami bunga telang pada pembuatan cendol pati. Peserta diberikan kesempatan untuk bertanya tentang materi yang telah disampaikan oleh pemateri selama proses pelatihan dan pelatihan pembuatan cendol pati dengan pewarna alami biru dari sari bunga telang. Kriteria keberhasilan pelaksanaan kegiatan sebagai berikut: a) 80% peserta mampu menjawab dengan benar pertanyaan yang diberikan setelah kegiatan pelatihan, b) 80% peserta mendapatkan keahlian teknik dan mampu mempraktekkan pembuatan pewarna alami biru dari bunga telang, dan c) 80% peserta dapat menciptakan variasi olahan bunga telang berupa cendol pati warna biru yang dapat digunakan untuk menunjang perekonomian kreatif masyarakat Desa Datengan Kecamatn Grogol Kabupaten Kediri. Parameter keberhasilan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah meningkatnya pengetahuan mitra mengenai pemanfaatan sari bunga telang sebagai pewarna alami warna biru pada pembuatan cendol pati. Jika skor posttest peserta yang dihasilkan lebih baik daripada pretest, maka hal tersebut mengindikasikan jika penyuluhan ini telah berhasil (Sariwati et al, 2019; Shofi, 2019)
