Abstract

Abstract 'Practice Forum' is intended to provided a forum for social work practitioners to share their practice with others; to describe what they are doing and assess its effectiveness. We extend an invitation to all social work practitioners to submit articles for 'Practice Forum' and we look forward to receiving your contribution. Through lack of alternatives, many social workers turn to post-graduate courses in family or other forms of psychotherapy to gain further training in casework skills. In Victoria, a group of experienced social work practitioners and educators have developed a course in 'Advanced Family Casework'. It aims to provide training specific to social work and thus retain experienced practitioners within the profession.
