Abstract

Living in fast-paced world modern companies ensure through training that professional knowledge and skills match modern market requirements. It became necessary to differentiate training, since employees may have different goals and intentions, people from different generations work together in companies. The goal of the study is to identify the characteristics of personnel training depending on belonging to different generations. To achieve the goal, the theory of generations of William Strauss and Niel Howe and methods of statistical analysis were used. Training and professional development of employees at present should be continuous and carried out throughout their employment. It is important to create a learning environment and motivate staff to train properly. In 2020, Generations X, Y, and Z (under the age of 55) are 70.6% of the Russian population. They are characterized by completely different training in HRM than for the previous generations due to the development of ICTs and the Internet, speed of life, globalization, and new opportunities. Peculiarities of training different generations are identified and the situation in Russia is analyzed. The population percentage division is based on the data of The Russian Statistical Yearbook (January 1, 2020). Methods of statistical analysis were used. The research study showed that they are open to professional development and training, life-long learning and effective training for them is based on edutainment, phenomenon-based learning, coaching, digital learning. Differences of generations in training contribute to research in the scientific field and will allow companies to design and implement more effective training and personnel development programs.
