Abstract

Not only does the art-culture relationship exist for all the arts; it exists in the present as well as in the past. The statements art makes about contemporary culture and values, therefore, merit consideration however much they may appear less clear, less tangible, or less susceptible of objective interpretation than the statements art makes about the past.
