Continuing in this tradition, the task of the journal (which has become an increasingly European affair) needs to be more broadly conceived in order to keep pace with the pluralization of European society. The first matter of concern, however, is to discover anew the significance of Luther's theology; thereupon, to engage in dialogue with the humanities and the social sciences ; to develop a comprehensive critique of culture and religion ; to call into question the okumenische Management-Theologie ; and finally to allow for a forum of debate between premodernity and postmodernity
