Abstract

Indonesia is a multicultural country, famous for its cultural diversity. Such diversity can include community norms, customs, traditional ceremonies and other traditions that are all the result of human creation, works and works. At this time, the Java community spread throughout the archipelago, one of them in Mojokerto. Mojoketo is one of the areas located in East Java province that is very thick in Javanese culture because most of them are Javanese descendants. Lots of traditions inherited from ancestral Javanese for generations, one of which is the tradition of kenduri. Kenduri is a Javanese custom done by people who have certain intentions by inviting local people to come together to pray for their safety and happiness. In the tradition of kenduri there are many positive values ​​such as guyub and nguwongke. In this paper will discuss about how this kenduri tradition can be an instrument in knitting diversity that exist in Indonesia
