Abstract

This paper presents a robustness and real-time target tracking system for mobile robots applications based on the Camshift algorithm. Camshift is a continuously adaptive Meanshift algorithm. It is an improved method of meanshift. It can adjust the window size of tracking object automatically to fit the object area when the size of tracking object is changing. The Camshift algorithm is introduced and improvements of Camshift algorithm are analyzed in this paper. The hardware and software structures of the target tracking system are designed. The experiment shows the tracking result and the tracking performance is reliable.
