Abstract

Information dashboards consolidate large amounts of data into a single visual display, providing instant insights to decision-makers. However, their development is challenging due to limited study on a unified methodology for designing effective dashboards. This preliminary study, using the narrative review method, explores the existence of commonalities in principles, best practices, and challenges in designing information dashboards across diverse domains. The result confirms the existence of commonalities and paves the way for future research to develop a standardized methodology for designing effective information dashboards universally across different domains.
