Abstract

Indian corporate sectors have begun to undertake trans-frontier operations as a logical and unavoidable step in developing their own competitive potential. Managing the complexity associated with such a move requires not only a sound corporate strategy, but also the knowledge base of people and organizations that can implement it. This chapter explores the consequences of rapid globalization process for building knowledge-intensive Indian corporations. The chapter provides an understanding of the universal background, which forms the basis of the Indian foreground for knowledge building. It also discusses the various institutional modalities of knowledge building. It also illustrates the process of development of a strategic perspective to critical role profiling, providing practical insights into human capital formation and upgradation. To build knowledge base and enhance intellectual capital, Indian corporations are required to build momentum for corporate vitality and strategic organizational connectivity within and among organizations.
