Abstract

Teaching English for the Applied Modern Languages specialisations for almost 15 years I have reached the conclusion that teaching translation to non-philological students is a tricky process. Moreover, teaching idioms, expressions, specialized vocabulary related to travelling and tourism proves to be a real challenge for students. The present study focuses on a constrastive investigation of Tourism terminology in English and Romanian. This paper scratched the surface of what a corpus can reaveal and may give you a flavour of the possibilities open to further research.
