Abstract

ABSTRACT An empirical study was conducted to explore the relationship between house prices (HP) and tourism activities in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou of China during the period of 1995–2019. The objective of this study is to provide a solid framework and assess the overall dependence structure between these variables using a quantile-on-quantile approach. The results reveal a diverse association between tourism and HP across the regions, as well as within different quantiles of each city. These findings have important policy implications that are tailored to the specific characteristic of each city.
