Torus actions of generalized odd type on oriented manifolds

Abstract

In [11], Landweber and Stong proved that if a closed spin manifold M admits a smooth S1-action of odd type, then its signature sign(M) vanishes. In this paper, we extend the result to a torus action of generalized odd type on a closed oriented manifold.
