Abstract

There are less monitoring and analysis about torsional vibration on half-speed turbine of nuclear power plant. It becomes more important because torsional vibration comes to expose on half-speed turbine conditions occurred by power grid fault or fluctuation. Based on an analysis of half-speed turbine conditions, this paper gives the turbine rotor’s torsional character, such as natural frequency, dangerous cross-section and S-N curve. This paper introduces torsional angle measurement in order to monitor torsional vibration, and the structure of torsional vibration monitoring system.
