Abstract

The possibility of constructing molecular thermodynamics of surface phenomena is demonstrated. It is already 125 years since the main work of J.W. Gibbs “On the Equilibrium of Heterogeneous Substances” [1], where a fundamental theory of capillarity was developed, has been published. Up to now, this theory forms the basis of thermodynamics of almost all the surface phenomena and for exploring novel directions in the surface science.
