Abstract

The results of calculating a gear wheel for stability to maintain its original shape, fatigue, surface rigidity of teeth made of 40Kh structural steel under the action of a cyclic load of 50 N applied to the wheel tooth in the SolidWorks 2018 Simulation and APM WinMachine software package, after thermal diffusion chromium plating. Experimental data of energy dispersive analysis, results of measuring microhardness before and after thermal diffusion chromium plating are described. Data are presented that illustrate the effect of thermal diffusion chromium plating on the surface characteristics of 40Kh steel. The prerequisites for the widespread use of this type of hardening coating are indicated.
