Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical value of serum cardiac troponin T(cTnT) and creatine kinase MB (CK-MB) in the diagnosis of children with viral myocarditis. Methods The changes of cTnT and CK-MB in 48 cases of children with viral myocarditis on admission and after 2 weeks treatment were detected, compared with that of 45 children with non-viral myocarditis. Results The levels and positive rate of serum cTnT and CK-MB in children with viral myocarditis on admission were significantly higher than that of children with non-viral myocarditis( all P <0.05) ; After 2 weeks treatment, the levels and positive rate of serum cTnT and CK-MB decreased significantly ( all P < 0.05 ). Conclusion The detection of cTnT and CK-MB had important clinical value in diagnosis of children with viral myocarditis.
