Abstract

This article presents a modal based analysis technique to excite TM01 mode in circular waveguide from a rectangular waveguide propagating the dominant TE10 mode. This mode transducer includes rectangular waveguide to coaxial line transition through a door-knob probe and coaxial to circular waveguide transition. Modal analysis has been carried out considering oversized circular waveguide supporting higher-order modes like TE21, TE01, and TM11 modes apart from the desired mode TM01.
