Abstract
The valence of Tm in TmSe and its alloys has been controlled: by variation of non-stoichiometry between 3.0 + and 2.71 + ; by variation of composition in the new mixed crystal series TmSe1−xTex and Tm1−xEuxSe between 3.0 + and 2.0 + . In TmSe1−xTex pressure induced phase transitions are found during pulverization. The phase diagrams of these compounds show several phase transitions at high temperatures.
