Abstract

The issue of the necessity of accounting for the motivational priorities of women in the process of physical culture and health activities and their significance for the design of physical culture and health related sessions has been addressed. Objective. To study the priority motives of physical culture and recreation activity of women of the first mature age. Methods. Analysis and generalization of scientific and methodological literature, surveys, methods of mathematical statistics. Results. The research involved 46 women of the first mature age who attend physical education and fitness sessions in fitness clubs of Kyiv. The characteristics of the contingent of women of the first mature age, who mostly attend health fitness sessions have been determined, which defined their social status, level of education, family status, and the experience in physical culture and recreation sessions. Among the priority motives, women determine the correction of the posture, body weight reduction. The types of physical culture and recreation classes preferred by women of the first mature age have been analyzed, among which the most popular was aquafitness. For the most part, women prefer the recreational activities. The relationship between age and motor tendencies of women has been determined. The results of self-evaluating health status by women are presented. The contingent of women who participated in the study was characterized by the presence of bad habits. Among the factors limiting the healthy way of life, the subjects indicated the lack of time, the lack of like-minded people to participate in recreational activities and insufficient financial support. The awareness of women about the principles of a healthy lifestyle and the desire to adhere to them has been revealed.
