Abstract

Guilbert É. & Montemayor S. I. 2010. — Tingidae (Insecta, Heteroptera) from the Argentinan Yungas: new records and descriptions of selected fi fth instars. Zoosystema 32 (4) : 549-565.The Yungas are an area of dense evergreen forests covering the eastern slopes of the Andes. Very few studies deal with the insects of this biotope. Here the results of a first study of the Tingidae (Insecta, Heteroptera) of these forests are presented. New distribution and records of species, as well as descriptions of the fifth instar larvae of Corythucha tapiensis, Dictyla monotropida, Gargaphia dissortis, Leptopharsa firma, Sphaerocysta angulata, Tigava pulchella are provided. The tingid fauna of the Yungas does not seem highly characteristic of this area, but it is poorly known, especially at high elevations.
