Abstract
This paper is a contribution to the electromagnetic field evaluation of open boundary time-harmonic eddy current problems, using a hybrid Finite Element/Boundary Fourier Transform method (FE/BFT). The finite element method applies inside a fictitious cylindrical surface where the conductors lie and the boundary method applies to the whole empty space outside the cylinder. The field descriptions, inside and outside, are matched on a set of discretization nodes over the fictitious boundary. The field over the boundary is handled in the spatial frequency domain by the use of a suitable discrete Fourier transform.
