Abstract
This article considers the ideas of applying Cohen's approach to joint time-frequency analysis of nonstationary signals in power systems. Such analysis offers the possibility to track the frequency and amplitude changes of non-stationary signals. The discussed approach can be used to identify transient events in power systems, which include the inter-harmonics. Matching the kernel function with different classes of signals enables real-time improvement of time-frequency analysis.
