Abstract
In this paper, we present results on time visible emission from Er 3+-doped amorphous SiN thin films as a function of temperature. It is shown that the measured lifetime of the green emission decreases as the temperature increases and the effect is mainly attributed to thermalization of the 2 H 11/2 and 4 S 3/2 Er 3+ levels.
