Abstract

Time-resolved spectra of Tb3+ emission have been investigated for highly Tb doped LaPO4 phosphors under 365 nm excitation and 5D3 emissions of Tb3+ at which decay constants much faster than that of 5D4 were observed. Further new line emissions at around 600 nm were found in (La, Ce, Th)(PO4,BO3):Tb phosphor under 365 nm dye laser excitation. The mechanisms for the emissions were discussed, and it is considered that the emissions originated from Ce2+ as a result of the spectral structure and the decay time.
