Abstract

Laser flash photolysis of thioxanthone derivatives in the presence of substituted iodonium salts gives rise to an electron transfer process. Rate constants are measured and the cation radical of the thioxanthone is determined. Other results obtained with anthracene, pyrene, benzophenone and ruthenium tris-2,2′-bipyridine are discussed.
