Abstract
Time-resolved experiments and calculations are reported for the predissociation dynamics of the metastable v OH=2 vibrational state of H 2–OH and D 2–OH in their ground electronic states. Good agreement between theory and experiment is found for the absolute lifetimes of H 2–OH and relative product state distributions for D 2–OH. The excited vibrational state lifetimes are 10 −9 and 10 −6 s for the complexes containing D 2 and H 2, respectively.
