Abstract

The paper reports on a case of animal injury a few hours after the death of a man who died from coronary disease. The corpse was found with severe postmortem injuries to the face and neck. In the apartment there was also a hunting dog belonging to the man who was a passionate hunter. The behaviour of the dog in the short time between the time of death and finding of the corpse could not be explained by hunger or missing feed. Presumably the reason was a substitute behaviour leading to an affective aggression of the dog.
