The authors state that a full dose of levothyroxine can be given to younger patients although older patients and those with heart disease should be started more slowly. I believe that it should also be noted that patients with asthma should be started more slowly.In my experience, as well as that of others, there seems to be a relation between the thyroid state and the severity of asthma (2, 3).
