Abstract

This commentary describes differences in the practice of thyroid fine‐needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) between the West and the East. Clinical management strategies are different in the East and the West, as are the statistics related to thyroid FNAC. When thyroid cytology reports from other institutions and countries are evaluated, it is important to be aware of these background differences before clinical management strategizing.
