Abstract

Risk factors of mortality in severe CAP including thrombosis had not been investigated to the end. Aim: to study the role of blood coagulation test parameters and risk of thrombosis on Padua Prediction Score in patients with moderate and severe CAP. Methods: main group – 61 patients (38 pts with moderate CAP, 23 pts with severe CAP). Mean age – 56,0 [37,0-61,0] years old, men – 39 (63,9%). Results: levels of blood coagulation test, Me [25-75%] *- p The mean level of scores by Padua scale in patients with moderate CAP was 1,0 [1,0-2,0], with severe CAP – 4,76 [5,0-6,0], p On autopsy we found thrombosis of small or large branches of the pulmonary artery on the background of expressed purulent-destructive changes. Conclusions: 1. Severe CAP is characterized by very high risk of thrombosis by Padua scale, which was confirmed on autopsy. 2. Decreased heparin time and increased prothrombin time could be the predictors of thrombotic complications in patients with moderate to severe CAP.
