Abstract
Seall (Fig. I; PI. 37:I) Diameter 2.05 cm.; thickness 1.45 cm., with two parallel grooves incised around the circumference. Both faces of the seal are slightly convex and framed by a circular border. The engraving is deep. Only face B is inscribed, whereas face A depicts the figure of a deity. A. A figure striding to the left is very coarsely represented. Wearing the usual kilt, turned-up shoes and pointed hat, his arms are held sideways, an unusual position on Hittite seals. The facial features are almost completely absent, the hat and nose having been engraved as one almost continuous line, while the characteristic horned crown of the Hittite gods· is barely hinted at.
