Abstract
Since 2016, both three-dimensional (3D) echocardiography and two-dimensional strain echocardiography are specialist classifications (simple, general, and specialist levels) in Korea. 3D is further considered by some only as a research tool, requiring exceptional time and effort and impractical for clinical use. But recent advances in fully automated software for left ventricular chamber quantification have shown promise in making 3D echocardiography quick and easy. The aims of this review article are to focus on left ventricular analysis to show currently-available 3D echo is indeed no longer especially time-consuming or difficult, and to describe upcoming 3D enhancements.
