Abstract

Three-dimensional mode shapes for thermoelastic waves in an infinite annular elastic cylinder of arbitrary constant wall thickness are studied using the exact three-dimensional thermoelastic coupled equations for the vibrations in the n = 0, 1 circumferential modes. Three-dimensional axial dispersion curves are presented for a range of parameters. The corresponding mode shapes and their three-dimensional equivalents are plotted so that the types of wave vibration can be identified.
