Abstract

This paper presents a three-dimensional simulation of laser solid freeform fabrication (LSFF) process for NiCoCrAlY powder with 2% nano-CeO2 on IN-738, using COMSOL MULTIPHYSICS and MATLAB. The heat transfer and mass transfer equations are solved by finite element method (FEM). Using this simulation the clad height, temperature distribution and stress fields can be obtained. For each layer, the clad height is predicted and the absorption coefficient for each layer is considered separately.
