Abstract
Objective To investigate the value of 3D CT reconstruction in orbit and orbital fracture imaging. Methods 457 eyes of 433 cases of orbital fracture were retrospectively analyzed who underwent axial 2 dimensional CT scan (thickness 2.5 mm) and 3D CT reconstruction from August 2009 to March 2013 in Shanxi Eye Hospital. Results Orbital dimensional anatomy and periorbital structures could be clearly demonstrated by 3D CT reconstruction. For orbital fracture,3D CT reconstruction could show fracture line, size and shape of bone fragments, dislocation of fractured ends. Conclusion 3D CT reconstruction can show orbit and orbital fracture clearly and accurately which provides imaging evidence for clinical diagnosis and treatment.
